This project is focused on the period between 1999 and 2013.    1999 is some of the height of the early “dot com” boom, as well as a services heavy time period for service providers prior to the focus on recurring revuenue.  With Y2K efforts in full swing, service providers were very successful and services were booming.

2013 marks a significant change in the space as private equity firms invested heavily, with N-Able and Kaseya both being sold to investors.   AVG also purchased Level Platforms, bringing larger technology firms into the space.   Thus, this could be viewed as the maturation of managed services.
